An indexation that is able to compensate the price increase
During the last year, the purchasing power of retired persons decreased by 15 – 20%.
Elevated risk of poverty among senior citizens
In Romania, 44% of the persons > 65 years old were living in poverty in 2020. The EU average was 20%. In figures: 1.6 million Romanian senior citizens are living in poverty, according to Eurostat.
