PSD president Marcel Ciolacu, president of the Chamber of Deputies, issued a statement in support of workers to mark International Worker’s Day on May 1st.

“I chose May 1st – Labor Day- to be with those for whom this day is an ordinary day of work. I thanked the doctors and nurses from the “Matei Balş” National Institute of Infectious Diseases for being on duty every day, as they did during the pandemic when they were on the front line of the fight against the virus. And I’m glad that I was able to do this together with Professor Adrian Streinu-Cercel. In the same way, we must thank the police officers, firefighters, and all those who work today so that we, the rest of the Romanians, can enjoy our family and friends. Let’s not forget that today is dedicated to those who work hard and those who carry this country on their shoulders! Honor of work!” said Marcel Ciolacu in a message posted on Facebook.
