MINISTER LUCIAN ROMASCANU VISITS US TO ADVANCE CULTURAL COOPERATION

PSD leader Lucian Romașcanu, Minister of Culture for Romania, visited Washington, DC in February as part of a delegation attending the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast. The annual event is hosted in Washington to create an opportunity for foreign dignitaries to gather with members of the U.S. Government to pray for unity peace.

In addition to attending the breakfast and visiting Romanian communities in Chicago, Minister Romașcanu met with Members of Congress to discuss the U.S.-Romania bilateral relationship and possible cultural partnerships between the two countries. Romașcanu also discussed Romanian culture initiatives with the Mr. Rafik Mansour, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Culture, and with think tank leaders in Washington. On Capitol Hill, Mr. Romașcanu met with Congressmen Tim Walberg, Mike Rounds, and Mike Quigley. Mr. Romașcanu also recently met with Charles Rivkin and Stan McCoy, respectively CEO and President/Managing Director for the Motion Picture Association, to discuss cultural collaboration in Romania.
