PSD President Marcel Ciolacu stated on Monday, March 6, 2023, that women fulfil multiple roles – mother, wife and accountant of the family, a heavy burden, in a period dominated by major social crises.

“I know that being a woman in Romania is not a simple matter as, besides the role of mother and wife, you also carry out the role of the actual accountant of the family.

A heavy burden, especially in a period dominated by major social crises, as in the last two or three years, when we were exposed to pandemic and war, which have put more and more weight on your shoulders. (…) Therefore, let me bow with respect to all the women entrepreneurs in this country and tell them that we, the men, owe you immensely!

Tonight, however, I am here not only as a man, but as a politician, the leader of a party for which gender equality and equal opportunities are leading fundamental values of the modern left” said Marcel Ciolacu at National Confederation for Women Entrepreneurship Gala „Women in Economy – Day by day Heroes”.
