German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made an official visit to EU and NATO ally Romania, where he met with PSD President Marcel Ciolacu to discuss Romanian accession to the Schengen Zone and “collective efforts to safeguard security in the region,” said Ciolacu on Twitter.
Executive VP of the European Commission Frans Timmermans also visited Bucharest to meet with PSD President Marcel Ciolacu and celebrate the 130-year anniversary of PSD commitment to promoting democracy, social justice, and equity in Romania. Ciolacu underscored the importance of securing the energy future for Romania and the entire Black Sea Region.
Mr. Ciolacu has continued meeting with critical allies throughout the Black Sea region, Europe, Asia and the Middle East and counterparts in the international community in preparation for his upcoming term as Prime Minister. These relationships are crucial to the continuation of Romania’s leadership in the NATO alliance and international order.
