PSD President Marcel Ciolacu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, paid an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the invitation of the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu. The delegation included the vice-president of the Chamber of Deputies Daniel Suciu, the vice-president of the Pro-America Group, the deputy Ana-Maria Cătăuţă, who is also the president of the joint Commission of the Chamber and the Senate for the relationship with UNESCO, the president of the Commission for Education from the Chamber of Deputies, Natalia Intotero, the vice-president of the Commission for Foreign Policy, Andi Cristea, the MEP Victor Negrescu, vice-president of PSD, senator Titus Corlățean, the president of the Commission for Foreign Policy, the president of the Commission for European Affairs, senator Angel Tîlvăr.
The President of the Chamber of Deputies declared during his meeting that the Republic of Moldova should rightfully be a member of the European Union, and that Romania has an obligation to help it in this endeavor. PSD President Marcel Ciolacu held meetings with the president and the prime minister of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu and Natalia Gavriliţă, as well as several other parliamentary level meetings.
“The place of the Republic of Moldova is in the European Union. There is no other development path for the Republic of Moldova than entering the European Union. Romania must help the Republic of Moldova, Romania is not doing the Republic of Moldova a favor, Romania has the obligation to help the Republic of Moldova throughout this process.”
