PSD President Marcel Ciolacu’s Official Visit to Belgium

PSD President Marcel Ciolacu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, made an official visit to Brussels, Belgium on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Ciolacu had meetings with the President of the Chamber of Deputies – Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Eliane Tillieux, Deputy Prime Minister Pierre-Yves Dermagne, Minister of Economy and Labour, Commissioner for Labor and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit, and President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

The meetings prioritized a discussion about encouraging Belgian investments in Romania and the knowledge sharing for development of the Port of Constanta.

“The development of Belgian investments in Romania and the transfer of know-how for the Port of Constanța! These are some of the important topics on the agenda of the discussions that I had, this morning, with the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Federal Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium, Eliane Tillieux, and with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Belgian Minister of Economy and Labour, Pierre-Yves Dermagne.” Marcel Ciolacu

PSD President mentioned that the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister supports the proposal made regarding cooperation between the Port of Antwerp and the Port of Constanţa to facilitate the transport of grain from Ukraine and prevent a global food crisis.

“The Belgian Deputy Prime Minister supported the proposal made regarding the transfer of know-how between the Port of Antwerp and the Port of Constanta in order to facilitate the transport of grain from Ukraine and thus prevent a world food crisis. Moreover, we discussed with Belgian officials also on the topic of increasing Belgian investments in Romania and the need to relaunch local cooperation between the social-democratic authorities.”
