Romania’s role in facilitating Ukrainian grain exports towards the global markets remains essential.

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu addressed the international community during the Kyiv International Summit for Global Food Security.

In his video message addressed to the conference, he emphasized that Romania stood in solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people from the first instant and shall continue to stand by them for as long it shall be needed, until Ukraine shall emerge victorious. He also stressed that “The access to the Black Sea, as well as the navigation corridor on the Danube, provide the best transport routes of grains within the Solidarity Lanes set up by the European Union. The results achieved until now are evident: more than 60% of Ukrainian grain export pass through the Solidarity Lanes. This means that more than 30 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products have transited Romania in total. And our immediate goal is to significantly increase this quantity”.
