Marcel Ciolacu elected as vice president of the international democratic socialists: “Strengthen democratic policies worldwide.”

PSD President Marcel Ciolacu was elected on November 28th to the role of Vice Chairman of Socialist International for Central and Eastern Europe, the international organizing body of democratic socialist, socialist, and labor parties.

“As our political family is gearing up for a comprehensive discussion on the challenges ahead, I want to stress the relevance of solidarity and cooperation among us, members of the most significant organization of labor, social democratic and socialist parties, in order to strengthen and develop social-democratic policies worldwide,” Ciolacu wrote in a letter of intent for his candidacy.

The leadership role will elevate PSD to a higher level of international political leadership and enable greater cooperation with government leaders across Europe and the world. Furthermore, the position of Vice Chairman of Socialist International for Central and Eastern Europe enhances PSD’s role as a leader in the region.
